Bernadette Marie Patrick has been identified by authorities as the victim in a Clearlake pedestrian collision. At approximately 7:00 p.m. on the night of December 10, Ms. Patrick apparently entered the lane where a 1995 Nissan Maxima driven by Michael Jefferson was in progress. Reports indicate that the car driven by the 28-year-old Clearlake resident swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but the driver may not have had sufficient time. The woman died at the scene. A DUI is not suspected. The case is under investigation by the Clearlake Police Department. Ms. Patrick was 31 and a resident of Clearlake.

We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
