Alyssa Contreras has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a three-car collision that took place in Escondido on February 5.  Ms. Contreras, a 24-year-old La Puente resident, was driving a Toyota Corolla at roughly 3:45 a.m. heading southward on the 605 Freeway, authorities say. Reports indicate that her car then apparently went out of control, colliding with the freeway’s center divider. At that point two other vehicles, a Honda Accord and a Dodge pickup truck collided with the Toyota causing it to rollover. At that point it was struck by third vehicle, a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Ms. Contreras died at the scene from her injuries. Two other individuals individuals were hurt including a 42-year-old Pico Rivera man, Jose O. Estrada. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the tragic accident and seeking witnesses.
