Alexandra April Alfaro, a 20-year-old Fremont resident, has been identified by authorities as the victim in auto collision that occurred on n August 8 in Buttonwillow. She was a passenger in a Toyota sedan driven by a 19-year-old companion, who later admitted to feeling sleepy, at around 4:00 a.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway. The car went off the highway and reportedly crashed through some fencing in an agricultural fencing. Authorities say that they do not suspect a DUI, even though fatigue clearly may have been the primary factor behind the crash.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim during this difficult time.
