Aler Enriquez Roldan has been identified by authorities as the deceased in a two-vehicle collision that took place in Hollister on January 2. Mr. Roldan, a 49-year-old San Jose resident, was taking a Ford Van out of a driveway near Highway 25 prior to 9:10 p.m. while a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck being driven by Jesus Rodriguez, a 34-year-old local resident, was heading down the street. Apparently, the pickup failed to stop and collided with the van, causing it to overturn and head into a ditch. Mr. Roldan died at the scene while another passenger, a male aged 39, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Mr. Rodriguez was treated for minor injuries and arrested on DUI charges.
We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the deceased during this difficult time.
