Thomas Demetrius Adams was killed in a South Los Angeles incident after the bicyclist was hit by an alleged hit-and-run driver. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred in Central-Alameda, close to Compton Avenue and 49th Street. According to police, Mr. Adams, who was 58, fell off his bicycle and was run over by a white Ford Econoline van.
The incident trapped the driver under the vehicle. The driver reportedly attempted to help the victim at first. However, the woman and two male companions were later picked up and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. EMTs arrived and were able to free the victim from the white van after some time. Sadly, Mr. Adams passed away after being taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. The female driver is described as being between the ages of 20 and 30 and African-American. She is believed to be a resident of the neighborhood.
